The founder of the office, Georgia Constantinou-Panayiotou, is a lawyer and :
– a member of the Cyprus Bar Association,and
– a licensed Insolvency Practitioner in Cyprus.
Georgia obtained her law degree from the National and Capodistrian University in Athens, with full scholarship. She was awarded a Master of Laws in European Union (Commercial) Law from Leicester University. She has completed with success two accredited courses at the Harvard University, USA (War Crimes, Genocides and Justice, and International Relations). She has also joined the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London, as an associate member.
Georgia is a dynamic lawyer, with 16 years solid professional experience in Contract law (incl. contract drafting) and Company law, Mergers & Acquisitions and International Commercial law, as well as Private International Law. Other areas of practice are international tax planning, Trust law/Fiduciary services, Employment law, Anti-Money Laundering regulations and practices, corporate restructuring and prevention of hostile take-over of companies.
Georgia has extensive experience in acting as counsel in complicated international deadlock situations between shareholders and companies and provides effective and results-oriented legal advice and support in protecting shareholders’ rights in case of oppression of minority.
Her experience includes acting as legal counsel in major cross-border projects in Europe and CIS, representing high profile international clients. She had the pleasure of serving as an Instructor to Law School students, teaching Commercial Law and Trust Law at the European University Cyprus, for the period 2011-2015. She served as the Legal advisor / Foreword to the edition “Companies Law , Cap. 113 in Russian” (ISBN 978-5-9998-0084-8). Georgia is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences abroad promoting Cyprus as an international service center and her articles have been published in legal editions in Cyprus and abroad.
Over the years, she has received many awards, among which the prestigious ACQ5 Global Award 2014 for Cyprus Contract Lawyer, as well as the GlobalLaw Expert Award 2014 as Cyprus Contract Lawyer, and in 2018 she was recommended as the Cross Border Transactions Law Expert by the Global Law Experts (GLE) for her unique expertise within Cross Border Transactions law. Georgia is also a member at the Companies Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association.
