Georgia   Constantinou-Panayiotou is the Founding / Managing Partner of CONSTANTINOU PANAYIOTOU & CO LLC (GCP LAW), established in 2006.

She is also an elected Member of the Board of the CYPRUS BAR ASSOCIATION, appointed as its Spokesperson.

Born in Limassol in 1980, Georgia is a lawyer, member of the Cyprus Bar Association since 2004. Georgia holds a Law degree from the National & Kapodistrian University in Athens (2003) and a Masters degree (LL.M.) in European (Commercial) Law from the University of Leicester (2005), both with scholarships due to academic excellence. In 2001, she attended the Harvard University USA where she completed 2 courses, “International Relations/World Politics” as well as “War Crimes, Genocides and Justice” and was awarded the accredited Certificate (DCE-2001).

Ms. Georgia Constantinou-Panayiotou has been qualified as a Certified Risk Management Specialist in Russian Sanctions (CRMS-RS), by the leading and preeminent compliance and risk management firm in the world, K2 Integrity, recognized as a high-performing professional with the skills to identify, assess, and manage sanctions risks for her clients.

She also studied French at the Universite de Franche-Comte in France (1998), after winning a scholarship from the French Government for her academic excellence.

In November 2020, Georgia was appointed to the Advisory Board of the European Lawyers Foundation, a network composed of Bars and Law Societies from Europe, bringing a vast experience in managing projects that have already created European added-value projects for the benefit of the legal profession in the EU.

Georgia is the Chairwoman of the Committee of Young Lawyers as well as a Supervisor / Member in the Committee for Companies and Tax Planning of the Cyprus Bar Association.

In January 2021, she was also appointed by the chairman as a member of the Committee of Foreign Investments of the Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB).

Georgia is a leader in the legal industry. She is qualified Lawyer with 18 years solid experience and expertise mainly in Contract law (incl. contract drafting) and Company law, Mergers & Acquisitions and International Commercial law. Other areas of her expertise are international tax planning, trust law/Fiduciary services, Anti-Money Laundering regulations and practices, corporate restructuring and prevention of hostile take-over of companies.

She acts as counsel in complicated international deadlock situations between shareholders and companies on a global level and provides legal support in protecting shareholders’ rights in case of oppression of minority. Furthermore, Georgia has handled major cross-border projects in Europe and CIS, representing high profile clients (HNI).

She served as an Instructor of Commercial Law and Trust Law at the European University Cyprus for the period 2011-2015. She also served as the Legal advisor / Foreword to the edition “Companies Law , Cap. 113 in Russian”.

Georgia is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences and her articles have been published in legal editions, in Cyprus and abroad.

Over the years, she has received many professional awards for her career achievements, among which the prestigious ACQ5 Global Award 2014 for Cyprus Contract Lawyer, and the GlobalLaw Expert Award in 2014 as Cyprus Contract Lawyer and in 2018 as Cross-Border Transactions Expert.

Georgia is also a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner, since the enforcement of the law  in 2015.

In 2019, Georgia was a candidate member for the European Parliament Elections and has served as a Spokesperson / Secretary of Political Reforms of the governmental party DISY (Democratic Rally), heading a team of successful leaders from various industries in drafting proposed reforms for Cyprus.

In 2014 she was appointed as an expert member of the Working Groups for the Cypriot Problem, appointed directly by his Excellency the President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Nikos Anastasiades.

She is also an investor in start-ups in the field of digital technology and digital marketing and communication, in Cyprus and Greece.

Her mother language is Greek and she speaks fluent English and French.
